I don't really know what it is about the buffalo that made my dog fall in love with it - he also has the Coleman bear and he doesn't play with it nearly as much. But he LOVES this thing. For a big strong dog (he's a bull terrier) he is not very destructive - he plays with his toys, nurses on them, but doesn't deliberately try to rip or chew them apart. For that level of wear, this one would be in mint condition after a year except that it's saliva-soaked (haven't tried washing it). So this seems pretty sturdy, although not much is really going to hold up if you have a dog who is determined to rip things into pieces or chew directly through fabric to remove a squeaker (we have had one of those guys too and he could only have those canvas quadruple stitched Big Mean Kitty toys). Anyway, our dog loves shaking this because it flops around like crazy, there are 5 squeakers to drive him into a frenzy and he can snuggle with it when he's sleepy.
