Coleman All Outdoors 3-In-1 Blanket Roadtrip (Colors May Vary) Review

Coleman All Outdoors 3-In-1 Blanket RoadtripI ordered this based on the great reviews. Liked the blanket in person and how it converts to a poncho and stadium seat. But there is one big flaw. In the blanket mode there is a opening in the middle attached with small bits of velcro. The velcro barely holds the opening together and is scratchy making this a major design flaw. Since I plan to use it primarily as a blanket I am disappointed. Not worth the return shipping hassle so I will keep it. But Coleman should fix this. Anyone have a fix?

Coleman 36-Quart Xtreme Cooler (Blue) Review

Coleman 36-Quart Xtreme CoolerI purchased the Coleman 36 Quart Xtreme cooler expressly for keeping ice.I saw the claim that it kept ice for five days at 90 degrees. It's actually pretty close if you keep the cooler full of ice (which I do).I like it because it is large enough for my needs but not huge and hard to carry.Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase

Coleman Queen Double-High Airbed with 120 Volt Pump Review

Coleman Queen Double-High Airbed with 120 Volt PumpI have been using the airbed for friends and family when they come to visit. I mistakenly thought that because this bed was larger than the original twin Coleman airbed that I bought, it would last longer. It did not. After a couple of uses, my friends complained that the bed slowly deflated during the night. It is pretty much useless now.

Coleman NorthStar PerfectFlow InstaStart Propane Lantern with Hard Carry Case Review

Coleman NorthStar PerfectFlow InstaStart Propane Lantern with Hard Carry CaseI have camped extensivly for more than 20 years and have used many differnt lanterns in that time.Unquestionably, white gas lanterns are far superior to propane lanterns, however the inherent fire danger of liquid gas fuels make propane fueled lanterns a very viable alternative. That being said... the Coleman Northstar propane fueled lantern is without a doubt the best propane lantern on the market in 2007.Ease of use: The globe assembly breaks down and reassembles easily for attaching the single large mantle; propane bottles attach easily; and the Instastart matchless lighting is extremely Convenient; no fumbling with matches to light this lantern; and BAM... your lantern is lit!The ease of use combined with an extremely high light output for a propane lantern makes this lantern one that will provide years of reliable service. The lantern also comes with a molded plastic carrying case, which provides the protection that lanterns require.

In that this lantern is so great, as far as propane lanterns go... why only 4 stars? There are a couple of avoidable issues to be aware of with this lantern.First, the lantern's connection fitting where the propane bottle attaches to is made from aluminium.Propane bottles are made from steel, which is harder than aluminium.Should you cross thread the propane bottle into the lantern, the harder steel threads of the propane bottle will destroy the weaker aluminium threads on the lantern and... your lantern will be ready for the recycle bin.The same will hold true should you over tighten the steel propane bottle into the lantern's aluminium connection fitting. As soon as the propane bottle's threads make contact with the bottom of the lantern's connection fitting, contact between the propane bottle and the lantern's connection fitting is sealed by a flat rubber seal that is inside the lantern's connection fitting. At this time, simply give the propane bottle a very slight 1/8 turn (or less) to seat the propane bottle against the lantern's connection fitting's seal. The propane bottle and lantern's threads are "straight" threads and DO NOT tighten as you continue to twist as is what happens with that of "tappered" threads of a pipe. The rubber seal in the lantern's connection fitting seals by snugging the propane bottle to the rubber seal in the connection fitting. If the lantern's aluminium connector fitting's threads are not pulled out by over tighening the steel propane bottle's threads into the lantern's aluminium connection fitting past a simple snug, the aluminium threads could at the very least be weakened yielding failure over time. Don't cross thread or over tighten, both of which can easily be done with this lantern.Coleman needs to spend the few extra coins and make this lantern without the aluminium parts.

The second issue to watch out for is the Instastart lighting. The adjustment knob that controls the flow of propane rotates easily.Too easily. It is easy to turn the adjustment knob too far when lighting or adjusting the light output of the lantern and go completly around to it's original starting position.Coleman did make the internal stem of the control valve a spring loaded cam type. This allows the internal valve stem to "click" back into it's proper place should you turn the valve adjustment too far. Then you get to "replay" for another chance to lite the lantern, but the valve stem should not become damaged. The detents, or "clicks" where the adjustment knob is held in position does not allow for good control of light output, is very touchy, and slips to a lower "click." If that lower click is "off" you need to quicky turn the lantern up high before the light goes out, and then retry to regulate down to a lower output. With a little pratice this will be problem.

Overall, this is a great propane fueled lantern.Buy it, use it, and enjoy camping.

This Coleman InstaStart lantern lights electronically without matches and has a control knob that works like a dimmer switch to let you adjust the brightness and burn time. The porcelain ventilators will prevent rusting, and the hard case conveniently opens into three sections for easy loading.

Coleman FlipLid 6 Personal Cooler Review

Coleman FlipLid 6 Personal CoolerI use this as a lunchbox.I can take three aluminum cans, a gel ice pack, and my lunch, and it all stays cool. It's easy to carry and clean.

The insulation could be better... I also have an Igloo Maxcool (soft-sided, with a rigid liner and insulated padding) which insulates much better. This Coleman cooler keeps everything cool for about 5 hours. The larger Igloo keeps them cold about twice as long. But the Coleman is smaller and will last longer, and does keep things adequately cool.

Knocked off one point because of the mediocre insulation, but otherwise am quite pleased with this.

Coleman PowerChill Thermoelectric Cooler (40-Quart) Review

Coleman PowerChill Thermoelectric CoolerThis cooler saved me enough money in bagged ice to pay for itself over the years we used it.It doesn't keep things ice cold, but I don't know of any electric cooler that does.
For our family of 6 we use it for a variety of things. When we go on long car trips, we use a power inverter and plug it into our car.We keep drinks in it and sometimes sack lunches.Saves us a lot of time and money over stopping and buying these items on the road. We have a camper and camp often. We use the plug in cooler outside the camper (we bring it in if it rains) and keep drinks only in it.That way we can get cold water/soda out of it without fanning the camper refrigerator so often.(The camper refrigerator cannot keep food cold enough if the door is fanned all the time.)When we do get to go to hotels as a family, we usually bring the cooler and use it once again for drinks and lunch supplies and sometimes milk for breakfasts if needed. It keeps things much cooler when it is in an air conditioned room than when it is fighting against the high temperatures of camping in the summer, so I can use it for more food items when used indoors.
We used it several years, and I'm replacing it this year. Finally the fan is making an extreme amount of noise.I imagine that sitting it on the ground at dusty campsites over the years and letting it suck dust into it's fans is likely the culprit. It is still working, but I doubt for long.It has also become so noisy that it drives us crazy to have it running anywhere near us.
I think I got my money's worth on this unit, despite needing to replace it.
I knocked it one star because I wish it could keep things colder than it does. Also because the light color design gets dirty looking quite quick while camping.
I never used the heating option so I have no comment on that feature.
It will drain a car battery, so don't plan to plug it into the car battery when you are not driving.

Coleman 6-Day 50 Qt. Ultimate Xtreme Wheeled Cooler Review

Coleman 6-Day 50 Qt. Ultimate Xtreme Wheeled CoolerI am always looking for coolers with excellent build quality and that can maintain ice for longer periods of time. I recently got into "5 day" and "6 day" coolers. This is a review of the Coleman 6-Day 50 Quart Ultimate Xtreme Cooler.

When packing coolers, pre-chilled drinks and cubed ice are used.I use cubed ice because it is convenient, but understand that blocked ice maintain much longer than cubed ice. When tested, the Coleman Ultimate Xtreme Cooler kept ice for 60 hours (2 and a half days).Again, I am mindful that without blocks of ice, I cannot expect a full 6-days of ice retention. The Ultimate Xtreme significantly outperformed the older Coleman 48 Quart Cooler that maintained ice for only 24 hours.

The build of the cooler appears to be good.Looking at the cooler, the lid and walls of the cooler appear extremely well insulated. The lid appears to align decently with the body of the cooler, though the front and center of the lid does not appear airtight. Also, the drainage outlet has no significant "locking" feel as my old Coleman 48 Quart did.I noticed that condensation formed along the drainage outlet of the cooler. This is likely due to less insulation around the outlet. Not a big deal, but an inconvenient one as my wood floor got wet during the testing period.

Something to consider about this cooler is the canal on the inside of the cooler that leads to the drainage outlet. The canal is helpful in allowing any water in the cooler to drain almost completely without the need to tip the cooler. However, when packing the cooler, the cans will not line up easily or nicely due to the concave build on the bottom of the cooler due to the canal. Some people will see it as a plus and some will see it as a minus, I am neutral on this.I would recommend taking a look at the inside of the cooler to get a better picture. However, as a previous review mentioned, it would have been nice for the drainage outlet to be on the opposite side of the cooler due to the towing handle was in the direct path of the draining water. In addition, the long handle is just a tad longer than the bottom of the cooler when at rest, which digs into the ground when you park the cooler. So if you are outside, the tip of the long handle will likely dig into the ground, dirtying your handle.

The insulation appears to be an impressive 2-inches.As a result, you definitely notice this in the weight of the cooler. The cooler is hefty, especially when packed with cans and ice.Thankfully, the wheels on the cooler make transporting it easier and appear to work really well.

Overall, the Coleman 6-Day 50 Quart Ultimate Xtreme Cooler has decent build quality and good performance. This cooler is rated a 4.0 out of 5.0, which could be improved if the lid was better aligned with an airtight closure in the front-center of the lid, a more secured drainage valve, improved position of the drainage valve with respect to the long handle, and a little better performance.

Coleman 100-Quart Xtreme Wheeled Cooler (Blue) Review

Coleman 100-Quart Xtreme Wheeled CoolerI bought this cooler for an Oct camping trip. Little did I know it was going to stick around in the 80-85's the entire 4 days we were camping! I had brought 2 coolers with us, this one and a beer cooler. The beer cooler was melted by day 2. This one still had ice. So we transferred all the beer into this one. I'm suprised everything fit. After multiple openings and closings, all the food was still cold and there was still ice in it when we left the site. I was impressed and will highly reccomend this product to anyone.

Coleman PowerPack 1-Burner Stove Review

Coleman PowerPack 1-Burner StoveI bought this stove primarily to use for emergencies or when I experience a power outage but I like that I can also use it for camping (note, it is not a backpacking stove, it's too bulky and propane is too heavy for that). I was a bit surprised that the base is a lot larger than it looks in the online picture. This stove can accommodate 12" and even 14" pots and pans. While this may seem like a positive, for me, I wish it was slightly smaller. At least it can be stored in a cupboard vertically.

I also wish the stove came with a carrying pouch or case, but it does not.

The stove performs and functions perfectly well and seems sturdy and well built so all in all for the price, I'm happy with it despite the few negatives I've mentioned. Small propane tanks are cheap and readily available for about $1.50-$2.00 which is a real plus.

Coleman RoadTrip Grill Cover Review

Coleman RoadTrip Grill Coverheavy weight cover but I wish it were a zipper type bag instead since we store our grill in our trailer and use it for camping-this cover really does not get used the way it would if it were a zipper style carry bag for that reason and because we keep our "kitchen" under cover when camping any way. If you use your grill on your deck or store it outdoors all the time this would work perfectly. If you are using this grill as a "take along" item only then you can do without it.

Coleman 12-Volt QuickPump Water Resistant Air Pump with Hose and Battery Clips Review

Coleman 12-Volt QuickPump Water Resistant Air Pump with Hose and Battery ClipsI was very pleased with this product and used it about 10 times before the part that plugs into the cigarette lighter cracked. I managed to get a couple more uses out of it until the plastic quite literally crumbled. The housing of the pump itself is fairly well constructed but the plug is ridiculously poor quality, so I suggest using it gently.I'm still looking for a replacement but do not recommend this product at this price.

Coleman 4D Universal Quick Pump Review

Coleman 4D Universal Quick PumpI purchased this item to use with my air mattress when camping.I was very dissappointed with this pump. I used brand new batteries and a brand new mattress when using the pump the first time ...and still the pump struggled to wheeze a few puffs into the mattress. It took a pathetically long time to get any air into the mattress- and once it got to about 65% filled- it seemed to just give up. At that point the air it was losing and the air it was providing seemed to stabilize and nothing could get it to fill anymore.
Before this purchase, I owned a more expensive Eddie Bauer air mattress with the pump attached. This worked wonderfully, especially when camping, and I miss it terribly. However, with four cats in the house, even a mountain of protective blankets and other spreads can't save the mattress from the inevitable claw and so I have had to resort to more disposable mattresses. I sure wish someone would make a cat resistant air mattress with a built in pump.

Coleman 70-Quart Xtreme Cooler (Blue) Review

Coleman 70-Quart Xtreme CoolerThis review is for two similar Coleman Xtreme coolers, which are virtually the same size on the exterior:the 70-quart, 5-day, BLUE cooler and the 56-quart, 6-day, GREEN cooler.By the way, these coolers do not come equipped with a plastic shelf to keep food suspended above the melt water.

First, let me say that Coleman made its reputation years ago with its workhorse, white-gas cook stoves and lanterns.Today Coleman mostly makes products for backyard use and casual family camping.Coleman generally does not make quality products for avid outdoors people operating in rugged or demanding conditions, so you can't expect too much when purchasing a Coleman product.

That said, I went through Amazon.com to purchase a Green Coleman 6-day coolerbecause I didn't want to shell out hundreds of dollars more for a tougher product and because I needed a cooler that would fit comfortably between the gunwales of our canoes. So far, I have used this cooler on two river trips, the first of which lasted seven days in southern Utah during September, 09.The weather was hot, but could have been hotter. Our block ice lasted 6 days, and on the 7th day we had plenty of ice water, so the cooler achieved its 6-day rating.

This was followed with a 4-day trip in October, which wasn't long enough to test the cooling performance of the cooler, but did reveal the cooler's low-quality construction. On the second day out, one of the handles came off when its plastic retaining pin fell out.A member of our party had with them a smaller Coleman Xtreme cooler, and both of its hinges were broken off and useless. So, if you plan to use this cooler much, I would suggest taking the preventive measures described below. And then try to be gentle with it.

A few weeks ago I purchased a 70-quart, 5-day Blue cooler at Wal-Mart for $30.At this price I couldn't pass it up.Apparently the store had a few of these left over from last year, and they were being sold at a deep discount because Wal-Mart is featuring a different Coleman Xtreme product line this year.I haven't used this cooler yet, but I can describe how the two Xtreme coolers compare physically.

NOTE:See my "customer images" available under the main product photo to see what I am describing here.

On the exterior, the two coolers are indistinguishable except for the colors.Same cheap plastic hardware on both.On the interior, the 6-day green cooler has noticeably thicker walls implying more insulation, and thus 20 percent less volume than the blue 5-day cooler.

Here are the fixes I have adopted in an effort to overcome the flimsy hardware issues. When I got home from the second river trip, I used a screwdriver to pry out the plastic retaining pins on the two handles (two pins each) and glued them back into place with Gorilla glue. This I expect will hold the pins in place for a while. On the newer cooler, I removed the plastic handles altogether and replaced them with rope handles. This type of handle has the advantage of remaining in a fixed position (unlike the original sliding plastic handles) allowing me to run a strap between them to secure the lid in case of a canoe upset.

On the interior of each cooler, I have screwed into place a short nylon strap between the lid and the side wall. The strap is long enough to allow the lid to open beyond 90 degrees and remain in an upright and open position, but the strap is short enough to prevent the lid from extending backward far enough to place excessive strain on the hinges. I am hoping this will keep the hinges from snapping anytime soon.

Coleman Large Dual Action Hand Pump Review

Coleman Large Dual Action Hand PumpI just returned from the deep woods and found that this pump was an absolute essential item to the trip. It took me less than 2min to fully inflate a full sized mattress.

When coupled with the coleman 4D pump, it took only 6min to fully inflate a king sized bed. The two pumps together were a perfect combo. If you are inflating more than one bed, you can use the battery, or car pump to get the beds to a certain point, then use the manual pump to finish the job. This pump comes with a variety of nozzles for every bed type in the coleman line, so you wont have to worry about being without comfort or having to look for other accessories.

When it was time to deflate and pack up, I found that by placing the hose on the other air point, I could suck the air from the mattress easily and get it to the point where I could roll it back into the bag without hassle.

I would highly recommend this pump for all coleman air mattresses.

Coleman 2-Burner InstaStart PerfectFlow Propane Stove Review

Coleman 2-Burner InstaStart PerfectFlow Propane StoveMy dad had some Coleman gear when I was a kid about 40 years ago, but I haven't gone camping in those intervening decades, so had no idea what had happened with the legendary Coleman name in all this time.
As soon as I pulled this stove out of its carefully-packed box I could see that they still were building high-quality equipment.
The stove sets up within a couple of minutes, and provides a very stable base. Stability is of paramount importance if you're going to use it in reality-based situations (instead of on the back porch) because nature is not flat nor smooth in most places.
In a disaster or other emergency things are dark, confused and in a huge mess, one of the last things you need is for some of your dwindling food supply to topple over while the stove happily starts your shelter on fire. That will not happen with this Coleman stove on the ground.
The two gas valves are large for precise flame control and have a silky feel to them. The "off" position cinches the valves down tight.
The lid and side wind shields hook together and stay that way until you want them to come apart. The chrome grill comes off easily for cleaning.
Propane for this stove is inexpensive and readily available at our local stores. You can disconnect a partially-used propane cylinder and use it again later.
I got this one to add to our emergency gear for when the next power outage hits, wish I'd done it two outages ago.

Coleman SportCat PerfecTemp Catalytic Heater with InstaStart Technology Review

Coleman SportCat PerfecTemp Catalytic Heater with InstaStart TechnologyI didn't have any design or function problems with my unit, at all.It worked fine right out of the box.For my purpose (heating a tent or a small bedroom in case of a power outage), I'd buy it again (and the price is right).BTW, the Winter temps in northwest WA are usually pretty mild at sea level, so although the 1500 BTU output isn't much, it is all I need.

The very first time I lit my unit, I was puzzled why it took 5 or 6 clicks of the insta-start spark to light it, even though Coleman predicts this in their instructions.By telling you to start clicking the spark right after opening the valve, I suspect Coleman is making sure you don't let a large amount of propane build up before you hit the button. In other words, I suspect it takes the same amount of time to click the starter 5 or 6 times as for the unit to build up enough propane to light. When it does, there is a small poof of blue and yellow flame.True, if you waited a few minutes after you open the valve to click the starter, one click might be enough to light the unit, but you might also lose your eyebrows (or worse).

One thing for sure... run your heater outside or maybe in your garage for a LONG time when it is brand new.In fact, I'd say use up a whole container of propane to break it in.The reason for this is that the smell this heater puts out when it is new is nasty!Ever get a rug stuck in the rotating brush of your vacuum cleaner, and the rubber drive belt starts to smoke?Well, it's like that smell TIMES TEN!I couldn't find any mention of the odor or warnings about toxicity in the Coleman booklet, so Coleman must not think is is harmful. But, believe me, it sure is unpleasant and Coleman should mention the idea of "breaking in" the heater when new. After I ran about 3/4 of a tank of propane through my new heater, the smell was completely gone. But, fair warning... break this puppy in, before you bring it inside with you.

Otherwise, no complaints, and I'd buy it again and recommend it to you.Stay warm out there!

Coleman High-Pressure Propane Hose and Adapter Review

Coleman High-Pressure Propane Hose and AdapterThis is what I needed and seems to be good quality.Minus one star because the price is so high.

It was hard to tell from the description (here at Amazon and other web sites) if the connectors on this hose were correct for my needs and how it attaches.I ordered it anyway and luckily it is what I needed to connect a propane tank (the type that is normally used for an outdoor grill) to my 25-year old 2-burner Coleman camp stove. One end of this hose has the same connector you find at the top of the small 16oz Coleman propane cylinders -- so it attaches to the metal tube connector that normally goes between a 16oz cylinder and the stove. The other end of this hose attaches to larger propane tanks like the new one I just bought.I don't know what a 20# tank is, but mine is like 3 gallons in size -- the usual kind that people use for outdoor grills.I found out, however, that it does not fit the quick-release connection that I have on a different propane tank that came with my Weber grill.I'll have to see if there's a (quick release) adapter available so that I can use this hose with that other propane tank also.

Coleman 9941-768 Road Trip Grill (Blue) Review

Coleman 9941-768 Road Trip GrillWe purchased this Road Trip after having a horrible experience with a grill from Cabelas. That grill had the lava rocks that moved every time you moved the grill and besides that the legs fell off.We were looking for something that would have fold under legs and no rocks. The Road Trip saved our camping days.We purchased a bag for it, keep it stored in the belly of the camper and with putting water in the tray below the burners, it is very very easy to clean up.You can place this on the picnic table to cook on or use the fold down legs.We have also discovered that this is the best way to cook grilled onions and potatoes or pork chops or chicken, etc on the griddle. Very very convenient and easy clean up.We both rate this a 5 stars.Great job, Coleman.Signed happy camper, Janet Becker

Coleman 5010D700T Camp Oven Review

Coleman 5010D700T Camp OvenI have seen these ovens on store shelves most of my life.I was certain that a little aluminum box could not function as an oven. But recently, we were embarking on a 10-day camping trip, and I was going to need to bake while we were there.I am pretty adept at baking with coals from a campfire or a charcoal fire, but on the trip in question, there was a burn ban in effect. What to do?I got on Amazon and read reviews about the Coleman Camp Oven, and decided that if my original opinion was correct, Coleman wouldn't still be making this little gem.

I purchased the oven and it arrived when promised. We took it to the campground, and were totally amazed at how beautifully it worked. We baked brownies, biscuits, potatoes, cornbread and even gluten-free hamburger buns and rolls.Everything was wonderful. The oven was easy to set up and use.But it is not like baking at home in your regular oven.

Tips you should know:
> Only use the oven on a camp stove.Try to get your stove as level as possible.
> Start warming it up with a low flame, and increase the stove flame as the oven begins to pre-heat.
> Plan to use small bakeware.Coleman suggests 8x8 pans. Here are some products that we found worked well:
* Nordic Ware Toaster Oven Baking Sheet
*Ekco mini muffin pan for 12 muffins
*Fox Run Set of Four English Muffin Rings (for the burger buns) on the baking sheet
*MSR Blacklite Fry Pan
*8x8 foil pan
> After your food is in the oven, you really need to watch the temperature gauge from time to time. The longer it bakes, the more likely you will need to adjust the stove flame to regulate the temperature inside the oven. This is NOT set-it-and-forget-it baking.
> We found that timing was pretty close to baking at home, as long as the temperature was constant.
> Try not to peek too often.Peeking lowers the internal temperature.Look when you need to

Coleman Aluminum Mess Kit Review

Coleman Aluminum Mess KitI bought this item almost as a joke because it was so cheep and so lightweight that I thought it would be junk. I figured that even if it was useless I wouldn't feel bad about throwing it out because of the price. What I found was that this little set actually works very well. I was impressed with the weight and it cooks a great steak and cleans easily. It packs up pretty small too.

My only two concerns with this product was that

1. Because the frying pan is two pieces and aluminum the handle tends to bend with too much weight. Long term I think bending will greatly weaken the handle.

2. The handle of the frying pan can get a little hot if left on the heat for more than a few minutes. Still easily handled with a towel or shirt sleeve.

These are the prices you pay for the very light weight and cheep price. All in all though, a great bargain that really works.

Coleman King-Sized Quickbed with Wrap 'N' Roll Storage Review

Coleman King-Sized Quickbed with Wrap 'N' Roll StorageWhether you are having relatives over and giving up your king size bed, you are traveling to family where there are simply no extra beds or you are looking for a bed to take on your camping trip, this is a nice spare bed to have on hand for every occasion.

After my Aero Bed deflated in the middle of the night the last time my parents came to visit, I tossed it out into the garbage and bought this one. When we moved into our new place and had still not moved all the furniture we spent the night camping out on this bed.

The bed inflates in under three minutes if you get one of the Ozark Trail Electric Air Pumps. I almost prefer the pump not to be attached to the bed, as is the case in the aero beds.

It took a few minutes to figure out the advanced double lock valve, but it makes inflation and deflation fast and simple.

This bed holds up to 600lbs and has a extra thick heavy-duty PVC with rayon flocked top. 56 coils provide more strength and firmness. I'd say it was almost more comfortable than my old Aero bed.

Perfect for camping, guests, an extra bed you can put out in the living room to watch movies on, etc, etc. This bed also can be stored in a very small space.

Fairly comfortable and perfect for short term use. Works with your flat or fitted sheets and is guaranteed not to leak or you can return it for a replacement.

Product Description:
Large enough to easily accommodate two adults (or four small children), this king-size Quickbed gets its name from Double-Lock valves that allow it to inflate 10 times quicker than air beds with pinch valves. And when morning rolls around you'll find that, thanks to the Double-Lock valves, the air beds deflate 20 times faster as well. Keep one of these king-size flocked air beds around for camping trips, unexpected guests, or kids' slumber parties (the mattress will accommodate fitted or flat king-size sheets). The heavy-duty PVC construction is designed to endure all sorts of abuse while the soft top adds warmth and softness for colder nights. The air bed can hold up to 600 pounds. Its 56 coils and 6-inch side gussets provide support and, unless you sit down from a height, keep you from bumping the ground. Pump sold separately.

Coleman's King-Sized Quickbed offers heavy-duty PVC construction and can support up to 600 pounds.

Coleman 9949-750 Road Trip Grill, Red Review

Coleman 9949-750 Road Trip Grill, RedMy wife and I wanted a new grill for tailgating at Miami Dolphins games this year. I am somewhat of a home gourmet and I am extremely particular of my cooking accouterments. After reading countless reviews on many different sites we narrowed it down to the Weber Q and the Coleman Roadtrip LXE. We went to Outdoor World here in Fort Lauderdale and actually looked at both as they had floor models available. We chose the Roadtrip based on it's modular ease of set-up and take down (I've never seen anything easier), the high 20,000 BTU output and the dual burner set-up, none of which the Weber Q had unless you purchased the top of the line Weber which was more than double the price in order to get dual burners and the higher BTU's. The Weber Q stand seemed much flimsier also.

After deciding on this grill we ordered it from Amazon for $159.00 and we chose the free shipping as we were not in any hurry since football season pre-games don' start until August. Amazon had the lowest price we could find. We were surprised to see this grill show up on our door step just 4 days later when the free shipping option told us it would take almost 2 weeks.

I opened the box and set it up immediately and I was pleasantly surprised that it came out of the box nearly complete. Just putthe wheels on, attach the handle and the regulator and you're good to go. About 15 minutes in all as compared to hours I have spent assemblying other new grills.

Next came the cook test and the clean up test. After reading other reviewers saying that they lined the inside with foil for easier cleanup, I thought this was a good idea and did the same. I laid foil across the entire insides and with a steak knife cut around the 2 burners and a hole so any drippings could fall into the drip pan. I have read that the instructions for some of these roadtrip grills say to place water in the bottom for easier clean-up. NOT this model. The instructions say nothing of the sort. From reading many reviews, I summize that is on the standard Roadtrip model Model No. 9941-768 not this LXE model so the foil is a good idea.

I chose a beautiful 28 day aged NY Stip steak and my wife a 2 1/2" barrel cut filet. I preheated the grill for 5 minutes with the lid open on medium, wiped one side of the grill with vegetable oil and the other side with Pam for grilling(handles higher heats). I wanted to see right from the beginning which worked better on these porcelain coated cast iron grills. I can tell you I saw absoultely no difference between the two and will continue to use the Pam.

This grill gets HOT!I have to say that I was concerned about the fact that these grill surfaces do have the center area as solid cast iron(no open grill) so no flame gets through over the top of the burners. My concern was no flame hitting the meat = less flavor. The purpose for this is so that grease does not fall directly onto the 2 burners themselves. Let me clarify, there is open grill area...just not directly over the burners. I can report that this concern turned out to be competely unfounded. I rubbed the steaks with olive oil and salt

About Coleman
More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a "no light, no pay" clause--a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked--and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark.
In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company's current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won't deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more. Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.

Coleman Folding Shovel and Pick Review

Coleman Folding Shovel and PickIt just arrived and while other reviewers complain it's too small, I have to ask, too small for what? You're not going to dig a drainage ditch with this shovel, that's true, but it's the right size for a backpacking shovel, which is its main purpose. It folds up nicely and is very compact in the carrying case. Slightly weighty due to the steel, but I expect it will be rather durable as well.It does claim it can be used as a saw, but I don't think the teeth are sharp enough for that.

Coleman Rechargeable QuickPump Unit Review

Coleman Rechargeable QuickPump UnitI bought this pump in conjunction with a Coleman Comfort Control Air Mattress and I'm very pleased with both. The pump filled the air mattress firmly in under a minute when plugged in, and the pump seems to hold a charge quite well. The nozzles included make the pump ideal when inflating a Coleman air mattress, as they're custom made for each other. The air pump takes the next step, though, in including additional nozzles that would (presumably) enable one to easily fill other inflatable items (short of a basketball or bike tire). The only minor annoyance to me was that the pump is quite noisy. If you're planning to use this at the campground, try to make sure you get your business done before other campers go to bed, especially if you're in close proximity.(Also, this product would have been pretty close to perfect if it had 9V car adapter capability.)Outside of that, this is a very efficient air pump - the price is more than worth the assurance that I won't have to spend an hour laid out on the tent floor getting chapped lips from blowing up the air mattress.

Coleman 120V Electric Quick Pump Review

Coleman 120V Electric Quick PumpIf you want to blow up low pressure items (toys, beach balls, mattresses, small pools, etc.), this pump works great and VERY fast. It can also be used to deflate these items quickly and completely. However, if you want to pump up bike or car tires or hard balls like basketballs or footballs, look elsewhere. It doesn't have the oompf or the adapter to do those things. Why the previous reviewer thought it worked on bike tires, I can't imagine, since you can see from the picture that it doesn't come with the appropriate adapter. Plus, it is really just a fan, not a compressor. If you need portability, buy the 12V rechargeable one. This one needs 120 VAC current.

Coleman Two-Mantle Propane Lantern with CaseUsed this for the first time this past weekend, so I've only had limited experience so far.(I'll update this review if I run into a problem later.) Some brief highlights:
* The lantern works quite well.It puts out a good deal of light and is well constructed.

*Like other reviewers, I am concerned about the possibility of cross threading the soft aluminum header in the lantern versus the propane tanks. When attached the propane, take your time and be careful not to over tighten.

* I think it is well worth the money to buy the version with the hard case.It is a nice case, easy to put the lantern away and makes is great to pack.

* Like any propane product, there is some propane "hiss" while it burns, but I didn't find it bothersome.Possibly I expected some, so wasn't surprised.

* This lantern does NOT have a ignition built in,so you have to use a match or a small torch, but it was easy enough to light.

Overall, a good lantern. We'll see how it holds up with time. The only reason for the 4stars instead of 5 is the issue with the soft aluminum threads.

Coleman PVC Double Wash Basin, Review

Coleman PVC Double Wash Basin,I attempted to use this item on my camping trip and it proved to not be usefull at all. The sides of the wash basin do not stay up so you can wash the dishes and keep all of your water in. When we used it the sides were always colapsing whether there was a lot or a little water in the basin. I will not be using this item again. most likely throw it away.

Coleman Speckled Enamelware Dining Kit Review

Coleman Speckled Enamelware Dining KitVery nice, complete camping dining set. Good quality. Will make your outdoor dining experience by the camp fire a lot classier than just using paper plates. The flatware comes in a nice nylon wraparound holder with compartments for each piece. It would be nice if Coleman also offered some kind of backpack or duffle bag designed to hold the dishes and mugs, that would make a really nice kit or gift set.
